Lois F. (Whitlow) Andreasen

May 31, 1931 ~ January 24, 2018 (age 86)

Lois F. Andreasen, 86, of Genoa, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Genoa. A Celebration of Lois's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 29, 2018 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa with Pastor Josh Feala officiating. The family will greet friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, January 28th also at Augustana Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour before the service. Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Monday at St. Ansgar Cemetery, Rosenberg (rural Genoa).

Lois was born on May 31 1931 to Amos Ivan and Della Helen (Clark) Whitlow in Ord, Nebraska. She graduated from Genoa High School and on June 5, 1949 married Doyle Andreasen at St. Ansgar Church in Rosenberg. They lived on the farm for 25 years and four boys were born to this union, Wayne, Mickey, Randy and Scotty. In 1973 Lois and Doyle decided to move to Genoa. Doyle was a carpenter part-time on the farm so he took up this occupation full time and Lois helped him and did some painting and decorating for customers. They became known as Andreasen Repair and enjoyed working together often with the help of all of the boys.

Lois was an Avon Representative, worked with Health and Human Services helping the elderly in their homes. This was a very loving and rewarding job but government involvement often made helping the elderly very difficult and sort of sad for Lois. Lois later became a Green Thumb at the Pawnee Senior Center. Lois and Doyle loved having all of their children nearby and they enjoyed many activities as a family including camping, fishing, boating, bowling, and playing cards.

Lois is survived by three sons: Wayne (Sue) Andreasen of Norfolk, Mickey (Peggy) Andreasen of St. Edward, and Scotty (Jolene) Andreasen of Genoa, daughter-in-law Carmen Andreasen of Genoa, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Darlene Whitlow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle in 2012, sons Randy, brother I. Gene Whitlow, and great grandson Cade Wiederin.
